Every major city’s police department has their fair share of incidents, criticisms and, for the lack of a better term, idiosyncrasies. The Dallas Police Department is no different. One of the most tragic events in the history of the Dallas Police Department is the recent targeting and shooting of police officers in downtown Dallas in July of 2016. The incident arose out of a march that was demonstrating the police involved shootings and the death of black men in out of state incidents, namely within Louisiana and Minnesota. Five Officers were killed and Nine others injured by an Army Reserve veteran who was actively seeking to “kill white people” (particularly white police officers) as was quoted at the time.
