In terms of gender of residents, the percentage split is fairly even with the female population slightly higher at 50.3% versus that of the male population of 49.7%. The median age of the Dallas population comes in at 32.4 years old, and the predominant age band is that of the 25 to 34-year-old category, making up 18.3% of the total population.

Counties and Districts

Although the majority of the city of Dallas is located in Dallas county, there are parts of the city located in adjacent counties, namely Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall. The districts of Dallas amount to a total of 24 districts and include: Bishop Arts District, Casa Linda, Cedar Springs, The Cedars, Deep Ellum, Design District, Downtown, Exposition Park, Fair Park, Kessler Park, Knox-Henderson, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Lower Greenville, “M” Streets, Oak Cliff, Oak Lawn, Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Trinity Groves, Turtle Creek, Uptown, Victory Park,  and West End.
